FAQs
Why are we building a new campus?
With an enrollment of over 900 students this school year, along with a waitlist at numerous grade levels, we’ve outgrown our buildings and the capacity to impact more lives. Once opened, we will be able to serve 1,200 students.
Our new campus will be approximately 152,000 square feet – 45,000+ additional square feet than we have today – and will have four separate buildings with designated spaces for teaching, specialized areas for science, music, art and more, plus gathering and collaborative spaces.
When will the new campus open?
Construction is slated to begin in the summer of 2025 with Phase I of the new campus projected to be complete in time for the first day of the 2027-2028 school year.
Phase I includes for four buildings for classrooms, science labs, fine arts, multi-purpose dining hall/gym, and competition gym plus an athletic field and playground.
Phase II, the west side of the school, will be the site of multiple athletic fields and will be completed at a later date.
Why aren't we opening both phases at once?
The cost to open both phases would delay our plans to open beyond 2027.
What is the cost of the new campus and how will it be paid?
The estimated cost for Phase I is approximately $80 million and will be paid by:
(1) The sale of our current properties ($35 million)
(2) Major gifts and donations ($12 million+)
(3) Financing
We will seek additional funding sources to reduce the amount financed.
When do you need to secure funding?
Our goal is to secure three-year pledges by May 31, 2025 so construction can stay on schedule. Pledges are an important part of our campaign because they demonstrate a commitment by our community to the financial institution and foundations where we will seek additional financing and grants.
Will we be asked to give to both the capital campaign and the annual fall drive?
This year, we have simplified our fundraising into a “one ask” appeal for the next three years. This is called the comprehensive campaign.
We invite you and your family to prayerfully commit to a comprehensive campaign gift or pledge to the GRACE Fund, including your annual gift for three years plus a capital gift that will be paid over the next three years to support the school.
If you prefer a payment schedule other than one-third annually, we are happy to work with you on a payment schedule that works best for you.
The One GRACE campaign combines the Apex campus capital campaign and a three-year annual giving campaign to meet the school’s capital and immediate needs.
For those who donate to the One GRACE comprehensive campaign, we won’t ask you to participate in additional fundraising campaigns. If you select the annual gift plan, we will contact you again for opportunities to help us out on an annual appeal basis.
We will continue sharing our progress on meeting the needs in our annual reports and on our website.
I still have questions! Who can I contact?
We’re happy to answer them. Please contact Eric Bradley, Head of School, at ebradley@gracechristian.net or Michele Bandy, Director of Community Advancement, at mbandy@gracechristian.net.
